We love the library! Our friends atLos Angeles Public Library’s Hollywood Branch are giving away free copies of Harryette Mullen’s Urban Tumbleweed as part of their awesome Book To Action program that EPFC was a community partner on earlier this year. Here’s a message from librarian Angi Brzycki about how to get your copy… they’ll even mail it to you!

“We can’t believe that our Book to Action program is coming to a close. Whether you’ve submitted a Tanka or watched one of our Book to Action programs online, we really appreciate you being part, even if it was virtually. We’d like to send you a copy of Harryette Mullen’s book, Urban Tumbleweed. We hope you will enjoy the 366 Tanka poems that Harryette Mullen wrote while walking. World Premiere

The Ras G music festival was held in Leimert Park on August 10, 2019 as a loving tribute to community champion, musical genius, and visionary Gregory Shroter — aka Ras G. The Super 8 film was eco-processed by hand with flowers, coffee, and berbere at the Echo Park Film Center by the Director.

Drop by Moberly Fieldhouse Saturday August 22, 1 – 4 pm,  for a free, all-ages outdoor workshop that will magically combine Field Recordings with Cut-Out Animation. Fun for the whole family! Physical distancing health and safety protocols in effect… Please wear your mask! (We’ve got some if you forget…)
