Registration now open for El Mash Up!

EPFC | May 3rd, 2021

What happens when we liberate art from its categories? Or when we merge those?

Join co-facilitators Daniela Rodríguez and Dora Prieto in a seven-session workshop exploring creative writing + media art with a hybrid lens. Using a variety of writing techniques from the cerebral to the intuitive, we will explore + experiment with language, form, and genre, noticing hybridity from the subtlety of a dream-poem to the audacity of questioning the written word.

Participants will receive a $50 honorarium provided by Cineworks Independent Filmmakers Society and a care package including awesome items to explore writing + film with! Who: This workshop is intended for all self-identifying Latinx/Latine youth (ages 13-18), and those that don’t identify as Latinx but have a connection and heritage to the lands known as Latinoamérica, and who reside within the greater Vancouver area, on the unceded, ancestral and traditional territories of the Coast Salish Peoples including the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.

El Mash Up is coming!

EPFC | March 29th, 2021

EPFC North is excited to be working with Daniela Rodríguez and Dora Prieto to present an exciting new youth program!

Calling all self-identifying Latinx/Latine youth (ages 15-18), and those that don’t identify as Latinx but have a connection and heritage to the lands known as Latinoamérica, and who reside within the greater Vancouver area, on the unceded, ancestral and traditional territories of the Coast Salish Peoples including the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and səl̓ílwətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) nations.

El Mash Up is for you!!!

The Project: In the late Spring of 2021 (May/June), we will be giving a hybrid creative writing + media arts workshop for self-identifying Latinx youth. In order to make this the most interesting for the participants (as in, you!) we want to get some of your feedback first. The flow of ideas is a two-way street.
