We’re embarking on an exciting community filmmaking project and you’re invited!
The Sound We See:
A South Vancouver
Community Film Project
Calling all South Vancouver residents and stakeholders!
Join us for The Sound We See: A South Vancouver Community Film Project!
Working collaboratively with support from project facilitators and partner organizations, participants will create a 24-minute film spanning 24 hours in South Vancouver in which each hour of the day is condensed into 1 minute on screen.
Through discussions, screenings and hands-on film/video skills-building workshops, participants will plan, film, process (using traditional and eco-friendly chemistry created from local plants, fruit and flowers), edit, score (in conjunction with local musicians), and exhibit The Sound We See: A South Vancouver Community Symphony.
Find out more at the fun orientation session on August 8, 1 – 5 pm, where we’ll show some examples from past experience, discuss local history, landmarks and issues, and start learning about Super 8 camera mechanics and hand processing. All ages welcome! No prior filmmaking experience necessary!
Every Saturday afternoon in August, 1 – 5 pm, we’ll host free Super 8 cinematography, film processing and editing sessions at the EPFC North Fieldhouse in Moberly Park, sharing and discussing the footage as our film comes together.
Saturday nights at 8 pm, we’ll show previous Sound We See films from around the world… The Sound We See: South Vancouver will be #21 in this renowned international series!
