INSTRUCTIONS FOR A LIGHT AND SOUND MACHINE

EPFC | August 6th, 2015

MARVELOUS MOVIE MONDAYS!! (kind of)
guest curator: Karl Lind
Greetings! I guess this will be a “Terrific Time Based Tuesday” edition of “Marvelous Movie Mondays” because I totally spaced posting this yesterday, my apologies.
I first saw Peter Tscherkassky’s “Instructions for a Light and Sound Machine” at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2007. I had the good fortune of seeing it projected in it’s intended 70mm format and it was a life changing experience!
The piece deals with the eternal concepts of life/death/rebirth in conjunction with giving the viewer an opportunity to ponder Cinema as a living, breathing entity all of its own.
