HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FESTIVAL STARTS FRIDAY, OCT 14
EPFC | October 14th, 2016
Tonight! The 16th Annual EPFC Human Rights Film Festival kicks off with La Decision de Vencer (Los Primeros Frutos). “A little gem from El Salvador, made in coproduction with México, it shows daily life in Morazán, a “liberated zone” in El Salvador, during the days the Frente de Liberación Nacional Farabundo Martí (FMNL) was in war with the landowners’ government (and indirectly with the United States, who gave support to the oppresive rulers). It shows peasant children attending classes, a young woman learning to use a rifle, a wedding, a battle, all real facts from a time long gone.” Directed by Colectivo Cero a la Izquierda. (1981, 73 minutes, in Spanish without English subtitles). FREE EVENT!
