THE SOUND WE SEE: ECHO PARK DVD RELEASE PARTY

THURSDAY, JANUARY 22 at 8 PM

The Sound We See is an ongoing international project that celebrates the urban environment, analog techniques/technologies, and communal process. Exploring the neighborhood over a 24-hour period, a multi-generational group of filmmakers from the Echo Park Film Center famiglia documented the life, rhythm, and movement of the Echo Park from their unique perspectives on 16mm film. The project premiered in July 2014 at The Lotus Festival, one of the signature cultural celebrations in the City of Los Angeles, with live music arranged by Jon Almaraz and Friends. Now available on DVD, the film joins the roster of previous EPFC-facilitated Sound We See projects in Los Angeles, Rotterdam (Netherlands), Hanoi (Vietnam), Guwahati (India) and Old Crow (Canada). The Sound We See: An Echo Park City Symphony was commissioned by the Office of Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell and Los Angeles City Council District 13. FREE EVENT! Everyone welcome!
