THE BEST OF PUNTO Y RAYA FESTIVAL 2016: ABSTRACT ART IN MOTION

Thursday, March 23 at 8 PM

Punto y Raya (Dot & Line), dubbed ’the most abstract festival in the world’ by the Japanese press, explores experimental narrative expressions in filmmaking and live cinema through the use of pure Form, Color, Motion and Sound, avoiding direct representation. This renders it universal and timeless. Since its launch in 2007, Punto y Raya aims to overcome intercultural barriers and bring together people from all over the world under the motto ‘Back to basics’.

The collection comprises the finalist and awarded films in their sixth installment, which took place in October 2016 at ZKM Karlsruhe, Germany. Presented in conjunction with iota center. FESTIVAL DIRECTOR NOEL PALAZZO IN ATTENDANCE!

The iotaCenter is a non-profit arts organization founded in 1994 to preserve and exhibit abstract animation and visual music in all its various forms: film, video, liver performance and installation. The iota community brings together artists, students, scholars, historians and all others who are interested in this art form. For more information about iotaCenter, visit www.iotacenter.org
