A hands on workshop exploring the techniques and seemingly endless possibilities of the video tape format. Using thrifted and obsolete consumer video equipment of the 80s and 90s participants will learn some experimental approaches to analog video production in the likes of Nam-June Paik, Aldo Tambellini and Scott Bartlett as well as expanding to new digital and phone-based possibilities of the medium. Participants will have the opportunity to produce their own short experimental video-cassette tape during this workshop. No previous film or video making experience necessary. All equipment and materials provided by EPFC. Class limited to 10 students.
