Philippine New Wave Cinema Night: Pascalina by Pam Miras

PASCALINA is an untypical story of a simple girl who after visiting her dying aunt experiences changes in her life that will push her to the edge of madness and monstrosity. It was shot entirely using a Digital Harinezumi toy camera.

PAM MIRAS is a director and screenwriter for film and television. Her feature film debut, PASCALINA, 2012, won Best Picture at the Cinema One Currents section of the 2012 Cinema One Originals. Before this, her short films have won awards and have screened in international and local festivals. Her notable work includes, REYNA NG KADILIMAN, 1999 (Best Short Feature, 13 th Gawad CCP, Best Short Feature, 23 rd Gawad Urian Awards), BLOOD BANK, 2004 (Best Philippine Short, .MOV International Film Festival, Best Screenplay/Short Film Category, 1 st Cinemalaya Film Festival, In Competition, Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival), WAG KANG TITINGIN, 2010 (Best Short Film, 6 th Cinemalaya Film Festival, Best Short Feature, 33 rd Gawad Urian Awards), and PUSONG BATO, 2013 (In Competition, Singapore International Film Festival) She is currently employed as a writer for local television dramas.
