Doors 7:30 pm; FREE EVENT!

LA AIR invites local artists to utilize EPFC resources in creating and premiering new, experimental, documentary, and personal work over a two-month period. Artists in residence also engage with the greater EPFC community via screenings, workshops and other events.

Tonight features new work by our July/August LA AIR artist Arshia Haq.

Hi friends, tomorrow I’ll be showing a new work experiment very much in progress, alongside short films and excerpts by friends working with found material, including Saint Abdullah, Yasmine Diaz, Annapurna Kumar, Adnan Malik, Maral Mohamadi, Hushidar Mortezaie, Hande Sever, Vidhi T., plus Naomi Uman’s “Removed” which inspired my project. Swipe right for a short clip. TW: my film does include explicit, though fictionalized, scenes of gender violence and sexual assault so please be aware/prepared if you choose to attend. Many thanks to Maryam Hosseinzadeh for working on these frames with me and to Chloe Reyes, Andrew Kim, Kevin Rice, and Dicky Bahto for their support and technical guidance along the way. Doors at 7:30 and short films at 8 at Echo Park Film Center. Event is free and there will be some snacks.”

FREE EVENT! Refreshments provided.
