LA AIR invites local artists to utilize EPFC resources in creating and premiering new, experimental, documentary, and personal work over a two-month period. Alan Nakagawa is an interdisciplinary artist primarily working with sound. Inspired by a concurrent residency at the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, Alan used his time as EPFC’s February/March 2017 LA AIR to explore issues of traffic safety and traffic fatalities.  “I have become familiar with the inner workings of the department and other community reactions to traffic fatalities ie ghost bikes, street memorials. I’d like to create a film that captures the complexities of traffic safety…utiliz[ing] not just  film footage but also stills and animation.” FREE EVENT!
