GORGON

Saturday, August 25 at 8 PM

Doors 7:30 pm; $5 admission.

“Gorgon” is the most recent collaboration between video artist/ filmmaker, Cheryl Cambras and painter/ musician, Tomory Dodge. Drawing inspiration from Classical Greek mythology, the piece is an improvisation in three parts, each roughly corresponding to the three Gorgons, Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa, mythical creatures with living snakes in place of hair and whose visage was so terrifying it could turn onlookers to stone. Like the living snakes sprouting from the creatures heads, each part of “Gorgon” takes on a life of its own as the two artists improvise off each other in a live setting. Cambras and Dodge will make use of various techniques during this performance, including both video and audio modular synthesis.
