GEMS FROM THE ARCHIVES

Saturday, November 4 at 8 pm

Doors 7:30; $5 admission.

In his 10th year of presenting at The Echo Park Film Center, film collector Russell Harnden III returns again with another unique screening of GEMS FROM THE ARCHIVES !  In an evening that will be sure to stimulate your mind and make you laugh at the same time, Russell will present more of those wonderful educational, industrial and just whacky films from the 1950’s through the 1980’s.  So please join us and watch in amazement as a young high school boy has to decide whether or not to conform to “the man” or become a pothead in “KEEP OFF THE GRASS”, then get an inside look into the grisly side of being a police officer in the exclusive training film “SPECIAL SITUATIONS”, and then see what happens when a family’s turkey flies the coop and leaves them with nothing to be thankful for in “A DAY OF THANKSGIVING”.  Drawn from his personal collection of over 2000 films, there will be more great titles screened as well.  Taken VERY seriously when these films were made, today they now serve as campy, nostalgic reminders of a simpler time.  So be sure to join us for a fun and “educational” evening!
