Visiting filmmaker Maria Magnusson presents an excursion in contemporary Swedish film, music and video art. Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Magnusson’s practice is strongly influenced by the photographic tradition; she works with both still and moving images, sometimes combining them, She is also interested in experimentations with sound, having collaborated on several projects with DJ Bruce Leenus. Tonight’s program includes Take it apart and put together again (2014), an experimental film about the start of the Swedish Chopper club called Sofia Hogs, founded in 1968 at Söder in Stockholm and isnpired by the Flower Power movement and Easy Rider.
