Fire, Flood and Freeway: An EPFC West Coast Tour!

AUGUST 11 – AUGUST 29, 2018

Fire, Flood and Freeway is a touring program of films and videos by LosAngeles-based artists. This eclectic program features works from the Echo Park Film Center Co-op, a group of activists, filmmakers, volunteers, and educators dedicated to providing media arts access to underserved populations and giving people the tools to tell their own stories in their own voices. The program revolves around themes of identity, community, and our complicated relationship to the shifting cultural and physical Southern California landscape. Poetic and abstract, aggressive and intellectually rigorous, vulnerable and mysterious–these pieces reflect our varying approaches to life, as much as our varied approaches to filmmaking. Experimental
techniques, animation, expanded cinema pieces, and fractured narratives illuminate our diversity as much as our commonalities.

Works by Beaux Mingus, Cosmo Segurson, Alee Peoples, Gina Napolitan, Mike Stoltz, Andrew Kim, Karissa Hahn, Emett Casey, Ariel Teal, Patrick Stephenson, Moira MacDonald, Paolo Davanzo, and Lisa Marr.

Program curated by Beaux Mingus, Gina Napolitan and Cosmo Segurson.
