Film Friends: Series Continues December 16 with Karel Doing!

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 16 @ 10 AM Los Angeles, 6 PM Oxford

FREE ONLINE EVENT!

Film Friends is a monthly series that brings established and emerging filmmakers together online for informal discussions on everything analog cinema. Series 1 features eco image-makers from around the world! Zoom in on December 16 — 10 AM LA time, 6 PM Oxford time — as we continue the series in conversation with filmmaker and phytogram originator Karel Doing. Free event! All welcome!

Karel Doing is an independent artist, filmmaker and researcher. In many of his works the rhythmical, painterly and performative qualities of the analog film medium are foregrounded. In 2013 he moved from the Netherlands to the UK to start a research project focused on cinema and ecology. This project has culminated in an ongoing engagement with plants and photochemical emulsion, investigating how culture and meaning are shared between the human and the vegetal realm. Doing’s work has been shown worldwide in micro-cinemas, on stage and in galleries. He has been giving workshops in experimental filmmaking techniques for 30 years, while focussing on plant based image making more recently.
