The Ann Arbor Film Festival is a pioneer of the traveling film festival tour which launched in 1964 with film screenings in Paris, Los Angeles and Berkeley. Since that time, the AAFF Tour has presented hundreds of influential works by film artists including Barbara Hammer, Gus Van Sant, Sally Cruikshank, Don Hertzfeldt, Bill Brown, Ross McLaren, Paul Winkler, James Duesing, Martha Colburn and Jay Rosenblatt. Beginning in June 2018 and continuing through February 2019, the 56th Ann Arbor Film Festival Tour will visit galleries, art house theaters, universities, media arts centers and cinematheques throughout the world.

Following a special one-hour program of five new experimental, animated, documentary, and narrative videos including Sky Roomby Marianna Milhorat, Bernd Lützeler’s Camera Threat (Kodak Cinematic Vision Award), Akosua Adoma Owusu’s Mahogany Too, Growing Girl by Marnie Ellen Hertzler (Prix DeVarti for Funniest Film), Jennifer Proctor’s Nothing a Little Soap and Water Can’t Fix (Cutters Studios Archival Film Award), we’ll continue at 9 pm with our monthly Open Screen where YOU share your film with the feisty EPFC audience! Any genre! Any style! New, old, work-in-progress! First come, first screened; one film per filmmaker; 10-minute maximum. DVD, VHS, mini-DV, DV-CAM, Super 8, standard 8mm, 16mm. See you there!
