ALL I COULD DO IS WATCH

THURSDAY, MARCH 19 at 8 PM

All I could do is watch focuses on four contemporary artists who examine the relationship between video art and Hollywood film. These artists explore the boundaries of filmic convention, playing with the expectation of story structure and character development. Some see narrative film as an influence for their artistic practice, while others willfully abandon all notions of narrative, using video solely to explore the movement of image, light, and sound. Rather showing these works looped in a gallery setting, this screening offers the unique experience of seeing the works projected in a classic, movie-going context. Filmmakers include Julie Orser, Bobbi Woods, Charles Atlas and Bruce and Norman Yonemoto. Organized by Paul Pescador.
