8 Days and Nights of Cinematic WONDER!!!

 

SUNDAY, DEC. 5 – GIANT RUMMAGE SALE

Time: Noon to 5 PM

Location: 1200 N Alvarado Street

Event: Rummage Sale

What’s Happening: One of our BIGGEST Rummage Sales in recent history as we wish to re-distribute  cinematic treasures to loving homes and community organizations before closing our brick and mortar Los Angeles location.

Special Health & Safety Protocols: We will only allow 5 people in the space at a time. Each person will get 15 minutes to shop. MASKS must be worn and we require proof of vaccination to enter.

 

MONDAY, DEC. 6 – LET’S MAKE MOVIES!

Time: 3:30 to 4:30 PM

Location: Torrance Girl Scout Troop

Event: Filmmaking Workshop

What’s Happening: Super 8/digital filmmaking workshop for Torrance Tweens

 

TUESDAY, DEC. 7 – OPTICAL TRACK 20th ANNIVERSARY EDITION

Time: 8:00 to 10:00 PM

Location: dublab.com (pre-recorded)

Event: Radio Show

What’s Happening: Testimonials, songs, stories and memories celebrating 20 years of EPFC

 

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 8 – FilmCICLE in ACTION

Time: 6:00 – 10:00 PM

Location: Echo Park, Silver Lake and Downtown

Event: Mobile Cinema Bike Ride

What’s Happening: Ride-along screening of short films made by youth and elders at Senior housing facilities, after school programs and with other allies in the area. Meet at EPFC at 6 pm if you’d like to ride along; we’ll also be stopping at various parks and street corners in Echo Park for sedentary viewing by friends and neighbors!

 

THURSDAY, DEC. 9 – CineKIDS! And In Progress//Open Screen screening with a live stream hosted by Media Monsters!

Time: 4:00 – 6:00 PM (Cinekids ONLINE) and then 8:00 – 11:00 PM (In Progress/Open Screen with a live stream hosted by Media Monsters)

Location: ONLINE via ZOOM

Event: Celebration of youth media and then Open Screen

What’s Happening: Come one, Come all!!! Screens your films 10 minutes or less for the world to see!!

 

FRIDAY, DEC. 10 – LA AIR AND MIKE KELLEY FILM COMMISSIONS

Time: 6:00 – 9:00 PM

Location: Elysian Park Picnic Site #4 (Stadium Way – between Scott and Academy Road)

Event: Screening of recent film commissions

What’s Happening: Screening of the 4 EPFC LA AIR artists from 2020 (delayed due to the pandemic) and also the premiere of 6 new films in The Newsreel Project, made possible by support from the Mike Kelley Foundation for the Arts.

 

SATURDAY, DEC. 11 – FILM FRIENDS

Time: 10:00 – 11:00 AM

Location: ONLINE via ZOOM

Event: Monthly series featuring informal chats with analog filmmakers around the world.

What’s Happening: Super 8 artist John Porter (from Toronto) joins us online to share his craft.

 

SATURDAY, DEC. 11 – OPEN HOUSE & FILM WORKSHOP

Time: Noon to 5:00 PM

Location: EPFC Alvarado Street

Event: Open House Hang Out & Super 8/16mm Workshop

What’s Happening: Drop-in with free cinematic goodie bags, give-aways and testimonials. Also a FREE Super 8 community film workshop, DIY button making and DIY t-shirt/patch printing (BYO t-shirt, fabric or tote bag) featuring past EPFC designs (and maybe some new ones)!!

 

SATURDAY, DEC. 11 – INTRO TO PREMIERE PRO

Time: 1:00 – 4:00 PM

Location: ONLINE via ZOOM

Event: Online Digital Editing Workshop

What’s Happening: New to Premiere Pro? This Basics class will help you learn how to professionally edit video: ideal as an overview for new editors, and a good crash course for editors migrating from other platforms.

 

SATURDAY, DEC. 11 – EPFC 20th ANNIVERSARY COMMUNITY CELEBRATION

Time: 6:00 – 10:00 PM

Location: Echo Park Methodist Church Parking Lot (enter on Reservoir Street)

Event: An evening of cinematic camaraderie… fun for the whole family!

What’s Happening: Music, Super 8 Commissions and other short films, Cake, Love, Bubbly Drinks, Laughter and Tears (of Joy!)

 

SUNDAY, DEC. 12 – Cine Cooks and OPEN HOUSE – DAY II

Time: 10AM – 1PM (Cine Cooks online workshop); Noon to 5:00 PM (Open House)

Location: Online via Zoom / EPFC Alvarado Street

Event: Open House Hang Out with Free Cyanotype Workshop

Content: Drop-in with goodie bags and free give-aways. Bring in your own blank T-shirt to silk screen from past EPFC screens!! Free cyanotype family-friendly drop-in workshop.

 

SUNDAY, DEC. 12 – FILMMOBILE SCREENING

Time: 5:00 Meet Up; 6:00 PM Screening

Location: Huntington Park… stay tuned for exact location!

Event: Demythifying LA Filmmoible Screening Series

Content: Mosquita y Mari with filmmaker Aurora Guerrero and members of the cast in attendance

 

ALL EVENTS ARE FREE and APPROPRIATE FOR ALL AGES!!

Most events are outdoors BUT we still encourage the wearing of MASKS whenever possible.
